Completed Eastern Bluebird

Completed Eastern Bluebird

Back in 2014 (was it really that long ago?), I promised to share my Eastern Bluebird in more detail and clearer photos. When life intervened, I misplaced the piece AND dropped off the face of the blogging world!

Oops. You can see the first two posts here and here.

I love needlepainting. It’s more meditative than working in acrylic or watercolor, as much as I love both those media. And no waiting for each layer to dry!

Here’s the long-awaited finished project. It was drawn and stitched from a Creative Commons-licensed photo (Photo By Robert Huffstutter (calibas) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/huffstutterrobertl/6755494657/). It’s stitched in long and short stitch in DMC cotton floss, one strand of floss at a time.

What’s your favorite stitch or art technique?
